I am irritated with constantly saying
FREON needs an update but then doing nothing about it. For no one besides myself, here is a to-do.
Core
- Fix code hierarchy. Things are duct-taped all over the place, paths are screwy and uniformity sucks. A lot was broken with the image gallery code...
- Remove/Fix/Rewrite Photo Gallery This thing is a wart, and it's poorly implemented, breaks all of the plugin conventions. Decide to fix, remove, or rewrite.
- Improve plugin loading/detection Plugins need to either be bound to the admin interface or loaded if present. Pick one
- Correct SESSION expiry Some people (myself included) might like to just remain logged in. Fix it
User Interface
- Fix style switching Right now it's so fucked it's not even usable
- Avatar selection Upon review, the old code is a total wash and shouldn't even be reworked. Write new code to allow users to select avatar.
- Link administration The Quicklinks/navbar code needs to be expanded to allow setting table elements "visible" "weight" and "admin" from within the admin interface. Let's stop relying on phpMyAdmin
- Comment work Several parts to this, allow users to enable/disable showing the story they are commenting on, decide if this should be enabled/disabled by default, clean up the display, and rename. This is no longer part of the forums code, it should be moved out of that module
- WYSIWYG Editor for comments/posts This has been on the to-do, and the current "post story" editor code stinks anyways. Probably should update to something snazzy like TinyMCE or more preferably, rip off the gizmodo/movabletype AJAX preview thingy.
Design!
- Default Theme The default theme is stale. Time to re-work it to something "nicer"
- More themes It's time to start adding more themes to the site, let's shoot for at least three total (counting the default). Probably the default blue/white type theme, something dark for the goths/Daves of the world, and maybe something else....
Uncategorized
- IE Support? If time/patience/motivation permits...perhaps consider supporting IE more actively. Maybe better support with some sort of ... punishment?
- IE 7 Support? Since we know that currently the site looks fine under IE7, should this be addressed or ignored?

Two things banged out... The article the comments are on is now shown above the comments section, and I added a "Show/Hide Story" link...

definitely, as the computers in the labs at Pitt are IE only, and there's not a damn thing I can do to change it. I was bitching about it last week. Ask Dave.
